27/09/2012 - New field season

06/06/2012 - Four new IMCOAST publications

Within the past two weeks, four new IMCOAST publications were published (Nehrke et al., Pasotti et al.) and accepted (Torre et al., Bers et al.).

22/04/2012 - 4th IMCOAST workshop in Buenos Aires

From April 16 - 20, we held a workshop in Buenos Aires with more the 50 participants of all active groups and potential future collaborators. We were especially happy to welcome some wonderful invited speakers this time, i.e. Dr. Pablo Canziani (UCA, Argentina), Dr. Sharon Stammerjohn (Colorado University, USA) and Dr. Michael Meredith (BAS, UK), who complemented our view on the climatic changes along the Western Antarctic Peninsula.

12/03/2012 - Renaming of Jubany Station

On March 5th 2012, the Argentine President Cristina de Kirchner announced the renaming of Jubany Station to Scientific Base Dr Alejandro Carlini by the official Decree 309/ 03.05.2012.

29/11/2011 - New video about Argentinean-German collaboration

A new video is available on our website[[sitetree_link id=153]#Fernanda] about the Argentinean-German collaboration at Jubany Station - Dallmann laboratory. This video by Lic. Fernanda Rebull, leader of "Proyecto de Comunicación Científica e Institucional" of the Dirección Nacional del Antártico (DNA) was in parts recorded during the field season 2010/11 and gives information about the joint research on King George Island.

09/11/2011 - Start of new field season

Yesterday, the first group of scientist arrived at the Antarctic research station Jubany & Dallmann Laboratory on King George Island to start the new field campaign.

10/10/2011 - Long-term data to be published in Journal of Marine Systems

One of the central data sets in IMCOAST, the 20-year hydrographical data set of Potter Cove, including also Chlorophyll-a and TSPM measurements, was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Marine Systems.

08/07/2011 - Coming up: West-Antarctic Peninsula-Workshop in Cambridge, UK

By the end of this month, a workshop will be held in Cambridge bringing together the three Antarctic research programs along the Western Antarctic Peninsula.

07/07/2011 - New video page

Starting from today, videos from Jubany Station and Potter Cove can be posted on the IMCOAST website. The first video, made by Gastón Aguirre (AWI), gives us some nice impressions of the scenery of Potter Cove.

01/06/2011 - Results of the 3rd IMCOAST workshop in Germany

In May, we had a workshop at  AWI in Bremerhaven with about 40 participants including all active groups and some invited speakers such as Prof. Fernando Momo from Buenos Aires and Jöran März from Oldenburg, and guests with new projects such as Dr. Veronica Fuentes from Barcelona.We were especially happy to welcome some IMCOAST partners from Argentina, including Dr. Liliana Quartino and Dr. Sergio Marenssi from IAA.

06/05/2011 - 3rd IMCOAST workshop in Germany

24/03/2011 - Field season successfully completed

The summer in the Southern hemisphere draws to a close. All IMCOAST scientists successfully completed their field work at Jubany Station / Dallmann Laboratory on King George Island, West Antarctic Peninsula. Lots of experiments were conducted and loads of new data accumulated.

An on site small brain storming workshop was held on a stormy afternoon in the Jubany Main Building. Imcoast and Jubany scientists discussed their ongoing work and the state of the investigations and data collection.

21/12/2010 - In memoriam Alejandro Carlini

We lost our friend and colleague Alejandro Carlini who died on December 20th in Buenos Aires. With his intelligence, humour and his great heart he has guided many of us through stormy times and expeditions. We are sad and shocked.

18/10/2010 - Start of Antarctic Field Season

Ulrike Falk (Bonn University, Germany) and Matthias Braun (University of Alaska, Fairbanks) are the first expedition members that have travelled to Buenos Aires and will leave for Antarctica from Mar del Plata, Argentina, with a Russian cruise ship in the coming week.
